Silver Member Username: BobimpactDanbury, CT US Post Number: 158 Registered: May-06 | I'm not a big fan of caps, but the "general rule" with caps is 1 Farad per 1,000 watts. In your case you would need a (hang on, lemme get out my calculator) 1.5 farad cap, since I have never heard of a 1.4 farad cap ![]() You could benefit from a HO alternator, but it may not be needed. You need to determine the current draw of your amps and the output rating of your alternator. If you're trying to fix problems with a cap they are worthless to you, if your lights blink or your car bogs down under heavy system loads a cap will not help you. A HO alternator is good, but won't help as much as it can if your battery is shot and you're running it through a stock 8ga wire to the battery. You may just need to give your electrical system some TLC. |
