I have recently bought one ALPINE Type-S 12" Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer SWS-1222D (Peak Power: 900W RMS Power: 300W frequency Response: 28Hz - 1kHz) and one cheap * 2/3/4 CHANNELS * * 4 x 85W RMS * amp see specs below Features: 85W X 4 CH.RMS (4Oohms, 20H@ 20KHzz, 0.04% THD) PWM mosfet DC-DC power supply independent adjustable divider non - fading pre-out for subwoofer Max. power: 250W X 4 Puissance RMS: 4 X 85W Puissance maxi male: 4 X 250W Super bass: 0db - 6db - 12db Treble: 0db - 6db - 12db My question is can i bridge 4 into 2 channels and then hook up each bridged channel to a coil? From my research i think the answer is no, but thought i would ask. Cheers Justin

Tuesday, September 19, 2006 - 17:50 GMT justin i think you need a 600w rms amp at 2 ohms for those subs cuz i don't think your amp can power them properly. do you have a budget?? cuz if you're cheap get an audiobahn a8000t or a8000v. If you have more money you can get an amp with better quality such as alpine mrd 605, PG 600.1 many others...
