Gold Member Username: BlainewPost Number: 1543 Registered: Nov-05 | okay heres the deal. my RE 12.1 is being weird haha. i have two hours to figure this out. my head unit is a low end pioneer with a 2 volt RCA output i have 2 diamond subs wired to 2 ohms, so the amp should be putting out 700 watts rms on my head unit, since it is not a great one...i set the lows to -2, because any highher and my speakers rattle. there is no sub conrtol on the head unit now heres the problem. with the gain all the way up, and the bass boost all the way up, the subs are not moving that much, but they are moving a little. i need to decide to send the amp back..or not.. the subs are not as loud as they are on my other amp, which is giving them like 450 rms total. should i get a line driver to boost my voltage, would that help? do line drivers make the bass louder when you not gettin such a gread signal??? or do u think the amp is messed up. oyea... one other thing, when i turn up the lows on my head unit to +6 and the volume up high....the bass is very loud, but it just seems weird bc i need to set everything to the max with the RE amp...... should i get a line driver??? |

Silver Member Username: CadillacdbHouston , TX Post Number: 840 Registered: Aug-05 | you know it could be ur ground.. i know you might not think this because ur soundstream works fine on the current ground but higher grade amps tend to be very picky about there grounds and they like a firm solid metal to bare chassis thick bolt ground with nuts on each side of the bolt both tightened so hard u nearly break ur wrest lol ... ive seen this happen fairly often with amps being given a poor ground... if that doesnt help at all then i would go ahead and send it in but not before exhausting all possible solutions |

In my area they are basically the best you can get. Everyone around here has something sheisty like MTX or Kicker. Gold Member Username: BlainewPost Number: 1557 Registered: Nov-05 | sounds amazing doesnt get too loud, bc as i said i need a new head unit, and my current head unit has to have the bass settings at -4 (it goes to +6) bc the speakers rattle i will get a new head unit with 4 or more volt output subwoofer output actual subwoofer control and speaker crossovers should be nice oh and also im running the 12.1 at 700 rms.. so right now i wont be achieving any great SPL numbers haha, but im fine with that |

Gold Member Username: Cenus4, 2 0 Post Number: 2308 Registered: Jan-05 | ya i got the RE12.1, running 2 AA atlas 15's, my HU is a pioneer DEH-580mp, its pretty nice has sub out and sub controls, but only 2.5v outs, but other than that its a nice HU, the wireing is power acoustic 4ga, was allready in the truck, but its pretty big, i got a 4ga ground from stinger and the PA wire is thicker. |
