Ok so im gonna make a new box for a 12", this is what im thinking about, since i have a trunk and my seats fold down, i should face the sub pointing towards in the car instead of towards the trunk. Ok that is that but im wondering where i should face my port(pvc). Should i put it next to the sub on the front panel facing inside the car also, or should i put it on the side panel firing towards the side of the trunk while the sub is facing in the car, and if i put it on the right of the box, push the box all the way to the side of the car where the left side of the box is against the trunk side. IMO if i do this it will be louder because the port is pushing air into the trunk. What do you think and what would you do?? I am gonna try it with my homemade flared port so im pumped!!

Thanx for tha input, IMO in my car it sounds better faceing in the car and my trunk doesnt rattle as much even with my edead, if i face it towards the trunk the trunk rattles like hell.

well...however it sounds better in ur car...in mine it sounds better towards the rear...in that case i would probably face the port and sub into the car...just make sure u block off the rest of the trunk...thatll make it louder and keep the sound in the car:-)

The port and sub should face the same direction.

Face your box towards the rear of the trunk. You want the bass to boucne off as many surfaces as possible before it reaches your ears.

If i turn my box towards tha rear it just seem just a little bit louder but with 3X more the rattling, and it doesnt sound as good because it seems because my box barely fits in my trunk that even if i face it towards the rear and push it all the way up to the seat it seems the box stops the sound waves from reaching the front, there for i think i am gonna face it towards the front, a lot of boxes dont have the port and sub in the same direction though, ive seen most with the ports on the top or side( more the top though), thanx for the input though....
