What amp can I get off ebay to run to 2 Alpine Type-Rs' 500 watts rms duel 4 ohm voice coils. Don't really want to spend much more than $300?

i would spend a little more and get either a nine.1 for $315 shipped or kicker 1200.1 for $350-360 shipped. both brand new with full warranty.

i don't think the kicker would work for you though because you can only wire thoes subs at 4 or 1 ohm. at 1 ohm the Kicker amp would prob go into protect, but the ED would be putting out full rated power.

Kenwood Excelon KAC-X810D/KAC-X811D/KAC-X812D

I used the KAC-X810D on my type-r 12"s in an s-10 blazer and they pounded like CRAZY! I actually cracked my rear glass with those subs.

It's not expensive either, when I got mine it was 650 retail, but now if you can find the 810d its about 120 shipped.. the 811 is about 150 and the 812 is about 200 shipped.

I swear by it for type-r's.

two cheap amps... hifonics 1206d

soundstream pca 1000d if you don't want hifonics. The kicker would be the best but it is too powerful for those subs.

check that amp... good choice for the budget and i dare to say that will put more power than hifonics 1206d and might have better quality/durability...

Jeff, get the nine.1, it'll be perfect for your application and you'll be powering the subwoofers with enough power. I have two 15's powered by a hifonics bx1500 at 1ohm which probaly only puts out really a little under 1000rms and it bangs nicely. So you having a nine.1 that puts out 1200rms, I'm sure you'll be more than pleased. Plus, its only 315 shipped, I'm sure you can get that extra 15.

joey i have 2 15s right now... changing for 2 12s cuz of the room space... i might get 2 pioneer TS 306c (crappy but not the worst) cuz i can get them pretty cheap, but i know is not the Best.

kicker 1200 is def not too much for the R's... theyare rated at 500 rms, so you will only be overpowerin them by 100 watts, and not even that since you wont get that much unless ur chargin system hits 14.4 consistently
