Sunday, September 10, 2006 - 05:49 GMT Its the new backplate with two fans crossflowing for extra cooling.. the whole setup is going to be part of a floating amp rack. I'm also in the process of repainting the amp hence why you see masking tape

Sunday, September 10, 2006 - 05:53 GMT Yea.. they are just CPU case fans.. i actually stole one out of my computer and the other I got from circuit city for 7.99 .. you can get them off the net cheap but after shipping you might as well pay a few extra bucks and buy them local.

I went to CC and got the same fan but because the one out of my computer has quite a few hours on it the LEDs are not quite the same color but oh well.. blue is blue. the back itself and cover for the fans are two pieces of plexi

Sunday, September 10, 2006 - 17:44 GMT I just used 8 bolts to connect the two pieces of plexi and fans together.. its not connected to the amp yet but I'm probably just going to use some screws lol. as far as the fans.. they were hooked up to a ACDC converter because I was inside but I'm just going to wire the + to the REM and GND to GND

Monday, September 11, 2006 - 12:34 GMT it turned out better than i thought.. went to a comp last night and placed 1st in class...can't wait to get the amp in to see how much my numbers go up and jaymes.. as far as plexi you'd need an 1" so the cost would be more than the practicality of it. if you want just show its fine but they have prefab plexi enclosures on the net

Wednesday, September 13, 2006 - 23:02 GMT Was your amp over-heating or something? Also to me it looks like you have the fans mounted on the bottom of the amp...so if that's true then you can't really lay that side to a surface.Get some pics when you finish your rack so I can see how you did it Nice work!

Wednesday, September 13, 2006 - 23:08 GMT Ummm....lol! He painted it? Wouldn't the paint keep even more heat?I'm pretty sure it would lol.Probably the reason for installing those fans.

Wednesday, September 13, 2006 - 23:15 GMT I'm sure the heat would not be a problem.. besides its only going to be running at 1 ohm. If I had two subs I'd run it down to .5 for burps but I'm stuck with 1 ohm for a while. I added the fans just because I was bored. It all started when I was just going to put a plexi bottom on it lol.
