Took 2 CD Players OEM from '88s and managed to get one that powers and lights up so far. Takes in and ejects the CD smoothly, but shows no display when playing the CD, nor any music sound. While my '88 Conti does not have the black JBL amp in thee trunk, I do have the set- up complete with all wiring (all from junk-yard) that I could remotely connect to CD Player. My guess is that the JBL Amp power is required to provide Display and music from CD Player, but I don't want to blow up anything, particularly this very hard-to-find OEM CD PLayer. Am I on the right track?... or could the fact that the display window being blank with no music while in Play mode, be indicative of something Internal wrong inside the CD Player? If that is the case, can anyone recommend a good CD Player repair facility for this old Ford/Sony Cd Player? Its an old OEM unit I know but that's what I want ! Thanks for any help! Ron
