it will be louder than if you were to put them in a sealed box. But i dont think it will do to well in a ported box, i beleive the fs on a type e is like 30hz or somthin.
a lower Fs kind of shows that a woofer would be better and perform better in a low freqency production (sealed box) than a sub with higher fs, if you wanted to know
not in all cases.. look at the Fs of the RE SX.. its 27.8 and its not recommended for sealed boxes at all.. the Fs is just the frequency response free air.. you normally want to tune high than the Fs of the sub. He could go ported and tune it to the rounded Fs of the sub.. it would be punchier on the lows but drop off on the higher frequencies.. thats why sealed would be best for a flattened tune throughout all frequencies..
