Saturday, September 02, 2006 - 21:23 GMT home depot wouldnt even cut a sheet in half for me to leave with cause of OSHA (sp) then mccoys said their saw wasnt super great and had a pretty unhealthy blade so prescision cuts from them was out of question... electronic stores were charging me 50 or 55 to do it for 1 hours labor and it would take all day... i ended up giving a guy my friend knows that used to work at one of the electronic stores as an installer my money cause he does it on the side now... i was still suprised he charged me 50 to do it...

Sunday, September 03, 2006 - 03:03 GMT My lowes and home depot will cut the wood - but they will NOT do precision cuts, etc. I tried this, and unfortunately found out the hard way. motherfuckers.

Sunday, September 03, 2006 - 08:56 GMT even if they do not do precision cuts thats still good, because if you have acess to a radial arm saw, you can make ur cuts pretty dead on

Sunday, September 03, 2006 - 09:52 GMT Most stores only sell 5/8"s.. not 3/4" .. btw.. it is only 1/8" difference not to mention I glass resin the inside of my boxes and use a double baffle. 5/8" - 3/4" .. basically the same thing

Monday, September 04, 2006 - 00:39 GMT I brush it on in layers.. The whole purpose of it is to allow the air to flow more freely.. ie a slicker surface but it can also change the frequency your box peaks..

Monday, September 04, 2006 - 01:26 GMT I started working as a carpenter's apprentice, moved up to general construction and contracting, finally have my own shop and can manufacture just about anything. I've been using and own every kind of power tool for 20 years. Scars all over my body to prove it. I @#!%ing hate when I have the wife's car and need something cut, some 17 year old punk at the home center says I can't use the panel saw because I'm not "qualified". Then, when the retard cuts my sh!t short, I have to deal with it. I say....

Monday, September 04, 2006 - 06:32 GMT haha, i just got back and was reading the replies and seen what david wrote... i thought i was tripping... haha... anyway, i cut the hole for the sub, used nuts and bolts for the wires and ran the sub out of my friends car (off his kicker zx750.1 at .9 ohm!) cause i dont have an amp... the amp would cut out at about 15% of volume but it was still way loud... i think wires are touching the speaker or something because there is a very loud rattling noise coming from the port when the hatch is open but when it is closed and im in the driver seat you can hardly hear it... ive gotta figure that one out... would polyfil help too?

Monday, September 04, 2006 - 22:00 GMT skil-saw, 2 c-clamps, and a good 8ft 1"x4" thats all you you will ever need for any cut you wanna make when building boxes. (unless you are building a f-ked up box) that is all i ever use. i just leave the MDF in my truck bed and let the part i'm gonna cut hang off the tail gate. great cuts everytime.
