My dads looking to buy a car Toyota or Honda a car that sniffs gass and runs almost endlessly ona tank of gass. He is looking at 1.5 / 1.7 size engine for one i want to know what the difference for gas would be for the .2 in size difference in engine. Also Civic 06 how good that car is on gas and the TSX also thanks. I see the dash on thoes cars i cannot put a custom deck in there can i :|
Those numbers are based on automatic models, both 4 cylender. The civic is a 1.8L engine.
If you want killer gas mileage get a Toyota Yaris those things are pretty cool. And for how small they seem they are rather roomy inside. Plus they get as good or better mileage than the civic, and a new one is like 14 grand. Fairly cheap for ANY brandnew toyota.
theres a big missunderstanding with hybrids the only time a hybrid is better is when its mostly city driveing cause the constant brakeing charges up the electric motor and thats what it will mostly run on in the city causeing gas millage to be in a 50's+ - range and when u drive allot of highway you would only get about 35+ - so if u live in a city the hybrids the way to go but if u do a lot of highway driveing the civic is the way to go because i have talked to about 20 or so people and they all get at least 35 average miles/gallon but thats just my 2 cents
i am not to fancy on fords because i do bealeve in the nick name found on road dead thats just me but ill tell ya what i had a 1991 nissan stanza with a 2.4 12 valve single over head cam up(completly stock)up to a 2003 ford focus zx3(or 4 not to sure)hatch back and we lined up ill tell u what i wished we raced for pinks cause i would have owned his car lol
i have heard that the money you spend on a hybrid by the time you actually break even(i mean the money you saved on gas to the price of the car instead of a regular one) it will take a long time and by then the car wil have problems and will not be even worth having so its better to just get the regualr version and pay a little extra for gas
american cars suck on gas mileage....or they get good gas mileage, but you can't turn your heard around w/o bumping your nose on the back window. lol
if you want good gas mileage...and a dependable car...go with a Japanese car.
it may sound bad, but it is the truth
the only thing i would drive that is American is a truck with an american V8...even some of those have their problems. oh well...you can't beat em all.
if your going to go american u have to go older jeeps with the 4.0 sright six has to be one of the best motors ever made i have a 1998 jeep cherokee and it goes right along especialy from 45 up and when im not flooring it to show off i get like 21 or so miles to the gallon which isnt to bad (not all that good ither but not to bad)but yes if u want dependable honda is the way to go,good gas millage good retail value very dependable ect....
Alan this is discussion on gas mileage not racing. If you want to talk about racing they did make a SVT focus. I don't like racing 4 cylinders anyway. Give me a stock 302 or 281, and I'll show you what racing is. I do agree import do get better gas mileage, but I love my Fords. Also, in the SUV market, the Ford Escape Hybrid is tops in gas mileage out of all SUV's. I have seen alot of broke down honda's around here though. Escorts keep on going haha. Sorry, but straight Ford man here. FORD= First On Race Day
