can a memphis pr1000.1 be wired to 1 ohm stable and not heat up. (w/ 15 L7)

yea the amp will heat up but if u set it correctly and dont give it hell all the time it shouldnt get burning hot

dude iuno what to do, i think its wired at 4ohms right now, seems to be hitting pretty hard, but iuno if at 1ohm itll pound?

why does it get hot if its rated at 1000rms @ 1ohm??

cuz not all the amps are 100% efficient so some part of the power dissipates in heat... and many other reasons

if u set it right it will hold for a lilwhile but just dont give it hell but it will get warm

those are nice amps, so it should stay around for a while.

you cant just wire it to 1 ohm, because if ur sub is rated at 500 rms, and you wire it too 1 ohm (1000 @ 1) you will blow your sub, aka it wil make it pound for a half an hour or hour

bassman WTF hehe, a 15 l7 is 1000w rms, i guess he owns the dual 2 ohm version, you're going to be fine if that's what you mean and the memphis will last if you know how to control de gain.

I bet you have a warranty right?

yea memphis is good if u send it back i sent back my memphis 1100 about a month ago they just sent me a brand new one
