I plan on wiring my kicker L7's to 1 ohm. My amp pushes 1500 RMS@1ohm. My cousin has a 96' Impala wired the same and he needed a 2nd battery because his car would shut off in under 5 sec's. My concern is I have a much older model Impala(77) what kind of battery should I search for? And is it possible I can use a marine battery to save a little $$? Also my amp has (4) 40A fuses.

Thanks

You won't need a battery as much as you'll need a high output alternator. If it's a class D amp, it will pull ~150A and your stock probably puts out 80A max...and your car probably uses ~50A on its own.

Its class D...so I should invest in a high output ALT? Or will I need both
