hifonics bxi 2006 2000 watt amp and a hifonics bxi 2006 1600 watt amp............do these amps really put out 2000 and 1600 RMS watts!!! cuz i had a 1600 watt power acoustik amp that only did like 650 to 700 and does these hifonics amp get hot when they are at 1 ohm?
well what amp should i get then cuz im gettin a atomic apxx 18 subwoofer are they really good subs and better than 15 L7's? anyways what amps should i get to go with that sub im wantin to get like 4 amps to put on the sub or 2 or 3 but i want them to have alot of power in them so what do yall suggest for a good price?
Someone on ca.com had their 1606 benched at 1300w. Not sure on the voltage, but that would indicate that 20% over rated is about right. Still a pretty good amp considering the price.
bench tests always vary. Ever seen two birthsheets that are exactly the same measured power?? I'm sure such a thing has happened somewhere, but I've never seen it. Just because one amp does xxxx watts, doesn't mean the next one off the line won't do 20% more.
Also, unless the power's measured using an 0-scope to monitor clipping, THD and the Voltage being supplied - who knows how accurate the measurement really was.
So - it seems they're a little over-rated, but close enough to be pretty good amps (power-wise) for the cost.
I have a Hifonics 1606D and I can't run it with stock alternator at a idle...also...it blows 80 amp fuses like no tomarrow..lol...also I am runnin her at 1 ohm...to a 15" mojo and I prolly drove 2 hours...going at it...and the amp was warm...but not hot at all...shes was doing good I was impressed!!
