I'm running them on an A8000T, but I would like to give them about 600W RMS each, but I can only wire them down to 2 ohms. Any suggestions?

I'd like to spend around $350-400 if possible, because I'm still pretty poor...

Ummm...Those all get 1000-1200W RMS...but only at 1 ohm. I need that power at 2 ohms. Assassins are 4 ohm SVC.

Yea, but each 500/1 is about $500...And I'd then need two, or just a 1000/1...Which is about $800-$1000...A BIT much...

Check that amp out guys, Troy picked it out, and that price is great...But is it going to be too much at 750W RMS to each woofer hehe?

Oops, my bad... I thought you said 600 watts total, haha... yeah, those won't be enough, sry about that. Umm, the SS sounds fairly good - I think if you want something nice your gonna have to save up a bit more - you can also look at these...

Or maybe a PG 1200.1?

hey tyler iv talked with chad about powering the assassin 12s and he said 600 is overkill and is pointless. im powering mine with 425rms form a pg x400.1 and he said that is perfect. at that power im getting everything out of the sub so there is no need to add more power even though it can take it

What's the point of making them to take it, if it's pointless then?

I give mine 400W RMS at the moment, but they don't have any hint of distortion. I really think I could use a touch more power. Maybe not 600W total, but 500 maybe? We'll see.

if they can handle more power, and you give them more, they should get louder, shouldnt they???

That's what I thought. Even with the 400W RMS I give them, they still maintain excellent SQ. I'd say 500-550 though, couldn't hurt...

im just telling you what chad told me, and i take his word for it considering hes the owner and all, his exact words when i asked him if i should upgrade my amp for my 12 assassin from 425 to 600 he said "600rms is over kill, with 425 your getting the most out of the sub"

doubling the power mathmatically gives you three decibles so adding only that much power will only give you like 1 dB and will probably make alot ore distortion so yes you would be getting the most out of the speaker by giving it about 450

I see, well I think I'll get something with 900W-1000W RMS, just to have some overhead, if you know where I'm coming from...

So, any suggestions on amps with 1000W RMS @ 2 ohms?

Are they more reliable (don't overheat so much) than the A8000T?
