I switched cars from a 90 olds, to a 96 camry.... now i have cut my box down a bit so i can move out soon (need space), and i switched from a clarion deck that had a magna bass button, to a sony cdx-s2000 (wanted to try it out, got it for free), now the problem is, is that it isnt anywhere close to being as loud, and it also seem when my trunk is open, its louder.... i know i maybe a "noob" at this but wtf do i do???
if you dont have the seats folded down on either vehicles, it could be that the camrys back seats are thicker, and maybe even have a metal plate or something in the seat. that could be making a big difference.
dang muddy, 4000?? im getting ready to hit 1000 pretty soon. lol
same thing happened to me when my Alpine IVA-D300 was installed...had to turn bass boost all the way up and sometimes i fold down the backseat...anyone know why it did this? should i reset the gain on my amp due to it being hooked up to the new hu?
ur supposed to set it the gains to whutever the pre amp voltage of ur hu is.... n since only one amp i know has a digital display (alpines MRV-series) its not that easy for a person who doesnt know
turn up ur hu to the highest u turn it..... turn ur eq to whut u want like bass boost dont get crazy though(sum say dont turn the eq all around but i tried it it aint work right)
then just turn the gain knob up tell u here distortion
u can also use a voltmeter an messure the voltage off the wire
dont know the site off hand but u put in ur amps power ratting n impedence an it tell u how manny volts should come out with a 50hz test tone playing
an u turn the gain up till u see that voltage an its done
