Silver Member Username: LoudonPost Number: 423 Registered: Jun-04 | well a solo x isnt a clean sounding sub .. its an spl .. that sounds like crap ... personally i dont the sound of a w7 .. they are sloppy IMO ... but thats personal preference ... treo ssi is by far the best youve mentioned ... look into some dd 3510s .. not overally expensive and sound amazing ... ask muddy hell tell u ne thing u want about that sub eclipse ti 9102 ... a great sql sub Diamond Audio D910 ... also another good sql sub some good 10 inch woofers ... if he wanted to do a single woofer setup there is so many different subs to choose from ... also like derek said find out his budget thatll determine everything |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 104 Registered: Mar-06 | Aiight, keep em' comin'. I havent talked with my cousin and Im not sure if he wants to use all the cab space or not. I say go with 10's to save some space, he wants LOUDNESS, but needs to soud good too. |

Silver Member Username: NikoncdPost Number: 118 Registered: Jul-05 | I personally love my 10w6, but its mostly for sq. I plan to get a second if I don't end up going to the 12w6's. |
Silver Member Username: Troy81Tavernier, Fl Us Post Number: 796 Registered: Mar-06 | DD, Memphis, Assassins r alright, JLs r ok. in that order ^^ |
Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1634 Registered: Aug-05 | Memphis over Ascendant? Are you on crack? And Ascendant and Memphis and DD over JL? ARE YOU ON DRUGS PERIOD?!?!? They're all different applications. DD's work better for SPL. JL's for SQL. Ascendant's for many types of applications. And Memphis is just pretty much a shelf brand that can be bought from most electronics stores... |

Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 110 Registered: Mar-06 | Still dont know |
Silver Member Username: NikoncdPost Number: 120 Registered: Jul-05 | Some people think w7's have a particular sound, like a wooshing? feel or something to that effect - which is all objective. I think they can get damn loud, but I prefer w6's especially for the money, and my particular pref to sq. |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 111 Registered: Mar-06 | Ok so the only real answer is the JL W6, but that too expensive. |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 112 Registered: Mar-06 | What about these everyday subs, which one of these are any good? Infinity Perfect 10.1 MTX Thunder 5500 T5510-04 Alpine Type-S SWS-1022D Alpine Type-R SWR-1042D Polk Audio MM 2104 Boston Acoustics G210-44 DVC Boston Acoustics G210-4 |
Bronze Member Username: CcdoggyPost Number: 28 Registered: Jul-06 | I had the infinity perfect 10 VQ the new one that does 400rms. I thought it sounded good but it just coulent do the volume i wanted. I traded it out for a Eclipse Ti SW9102. That was the best decision i could have made. The Ti sounds so much better and louder. I ran the infinity at 400rms and the Ti is at about 625rms on my amp. I could upgrade my amp to use the Ti better but i feel no need to. |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 113 Registered: Mar-06 | That Eclipse is too expenisve also. Which one Infinity Perfect 10.1 MTX Thunder 5500 T5510-04 Alpine Type-S SWS-1022D Alpine Type-R SWR-1042D Polk Audio MM 2104 Boston Acoustics G210-44 DVC Boston Acoustics G210-4 |

Gold Member Username: Basshead86Google is your Friend, FL Post Number: 4086 Registered: Aug-05 | Tyler......DD's work better for SPL is an ignorant statement. i would take any DD sub and put it in a box and BLOW YOU AWAY with its SQ. people buy DD's and throw thousands upon thousands of watts on them in a huge ported box....b/c the DD'd can take it....not b/c that is what they are for....no doubt....they get super loud. have you checked out any of their lines of subs? a couple of them have a raised Fs, but that is from the multiple spiders....you can have them custom ordered with less spiders and drop the Fs considerably. DD's motors have some of the tightest, most accurate bass you have ever heard. they cost a lot b/c they custom tool every one of their motors....that and they are DD's. lol |
Silver Member Username: Sw9152Michigan Post Number: 871 Registered: Feb-06 | steve h you should really consider upgrading your amp, i got the 15" eclipse ti and i have 1600wrms going to it and it could take more. really picks up the low notes better with more watts. |
Silver Member Username: Troy81Tavernier, Fl Us Post Number: 806 Registered: Mar-06 | ok tyler, first of all, MEMPHIS M3's are WAY better SPL than aa's WAY BETTER, and DD's are pretty much the most amazing subs youll ever hear, and i just dont like the sound of JL, if you dont know what your talking about, DONT |
