Little rip on my RE SE sub, and question about airspace.

I drive a little '86 Toyota mr2 and I have 2 10" RE SE's I'm trying to put in them.

I had "custom" boxes made to fit behind the seats, but it turns out they're too big. So I think what I'll do is cut off 2 inches of the FLAT side of the box and then re-attach the piece it holds.

The guy who made them said that they were made for the right amount of airspace for the subs.

I just want to make sure that if I lower the required airspace I won't actually be DAMAGING the subs .. just lowering the output.

I also managed to put a nice scratch in the cone of my sub today by dragging my heavy USAMPS merlin MD2 across it .. it didn't go through but the material that was scraped is like pointing up there.

I remember hearing you could use epoxy on stuff like that? Its like a 2 inch scrape.

Thanks guys

The pillow stuff is poly-fill. What is does is make your sub act like it is in a bigger box. If you do care to use it, put about a pound of poly-fill per 1 cuft of airspace.
