Gold Member Username: Basshead86Google is your Friend, FL Post Number: 3910 Registered: Aug-05 | i haven't heard all of these....so i put them in a general category. and some of them are in NO WAY just SQ or SPL... like the top 4. |
Gold Member Username: JakeyplaysbassSt. Louis, MO Post Number: 1251 Registered: Jul-05 | memphis LVS-SQ i got ya muddy |
Gold Member Username: JakeyplaysbassSt. Louis, MO Post Number: 1252 Registered: Jul-05 | i think it would be a better list if you put 1 for straight SPL 5 for SQL and 10 is straight SQ... example: RE XXX-6 treo SSx-4 solo x-2 W6-8 that way you get a better idea on what hey are like. |
New member Username: Audiobliss21Post Number: 3 Registered: Jul-06 | Exactly like jake papa said, rank them according to what type of sub they are. 1-10 sounds good to me. |
New member Username: Audiobliss21Post Number: 5 Registered: Jul-06 | Also relist the subs in order from which one is your favorite to which one you least enjoy: SQL ----------- 1-RE XXX 2-adire brahma 3-TREO SSX 4-crystal cmpx2 series 5-Stereo Integrity Magnum 6-soundsplinter RL-S 7-Jl Audio w7 8-Eclipse Titanium - SPL ------------- 1-kicker solo X 2-MMats Juggernaut 3-cerwin vega stroker pro 4-mtx 9500 series 5-kicker cvx series SQ --------------- 1-jl Audio w6(v2) 2-image dynamics IDMAX 3-Oz Audio matrix elite 4-soundspinter rl-p 5-ascendant audio arsenal |
New member Username: Audiobliss21Post Number: 6 Registered: Jul-06 | Which one of these will have the best SQL?! I would say the RE XXX, it has stood as one of the top performers for a while now. A close second goes to Adire's Brahma...even though nobody can buy one right now Which is the overall best performer?! IDMAX, It has the best SQ while still producing awesome SPL. |

Bronze Member Username: Sofakingcool2007Post Number: 29 Registered: Jul-06 | I havent got a chance to hear the dd 9500 re xxx or stroker but out of those subs the ones I love are the adire brahma treo ssx and idmax. The IDMAX is an amzing subwoofer. It isnt the loudest or best sounding but can produce amazing SQ and SPL at only like 500wrms. I would recomend it to almost anyone. Except those who want extreme SPL |
Gold Member Username: RedlinerWilmington, Ma Post Number: 2141 Registered: Jun-05 | okay muddy i ahve to disagree with one of those which would be a 9500 i think it goes in with sql |
Gold Member Username: IlluminatorUSA Post Number: 3405 Registered: Apr-05 | Tod J, seriously, do some more research. I can't believe Muddy actually was nice enough to list each as SQ or SPL, and you didn't even thank him, you just asked for more? Geez... |
Gold Member Username: JakeyplaysbassSt. Louis, MO Post Number: 1260 Registered: Jul-05 | charlie i think the only reason muddy put it SPL is because it is def not a SQ sub. lol. alot of the ones listed are SQL so its pretty much a pointless list. |
Gold Member Username: RedlinerWilmington, Ma Post Number: 2143 Registered: Jun-05 | oh alright i thought it was break it into sql spl and sq i ddint really feel like readig this pointless thread lol |
Silver Member Username: ScubasteveCollege Park, MD Post Number: 930 Registered: May-05 | personally I don't like the term SQL, it implies that the sub is in between an sq sub and an spl sub, meaning that the sq isn't as good as an "sq sub" because it is part "spl sub." Some brilliant sq subs just happen to also get loud, but lets not lessen them by calling them sql subs. sql subs do exist, in my opinion, but these are subs that find the middle ground between accurately producing bass and producing lots of noise. ^^Just a personal peve, most people like using the term sql for sq subs that get loud but i think its misleading. |

thanks Jexx, for the appreciation, and sincerity. and jake is right about the DD 9500 SPL thing.....it is def not a pure spl sub...some say they sound better than the 3500, actually. A LOT say it sounds better and definitely gets louder. but it is no IDMAX when it comes to that. lol i kinda agree with scuba steve. there should be 2 categories.... SQL - Sound Quality Loud --> SQ subs that gets loud SPQ - Sound Pressure Quality --> SPL sub that sounds better than avg. |
Silver Member Username: StnorrisEldridge, IA US Post Number: 655 Registered: Apr-06 | people already have in there minds though, that sql kinda means that it doesnt have as much sq as a pure sq sub. lol but alot of times sql subs do. like the treo ssi 15 i got.... |
Gold Member Username: AlteraudiousaConcord Post Number: 1057 Registered: Jan-06 | man you really should do some research as this has been thrown around in some form or another so many times. Some subs are more SPl that SQ but still sound decent while others sound like poo. And you have to see whether its say a newer one or an old model like with the Brahma's, the older ones I would rank a tad higher than the new ones. The new Mags are better than the older ones, RL-s isn't even a very realistic car sub unless you have about 2k rms on tap at a 4ohm load and enough space to actually use it. Just read other posts on here.... |

Bronze Member Username: Audiobliss21Post Number: 11 Registered: Jul-06 | Pl4yboy you are right! I don't know what I was thinking. Digital Designs should be in there as well. 9900, 9500 series especially as well as the 2500 series I have heard rave reviews for each of these. Those subs are all awesome. |
Bronze Member Username: Audiobliss21Post Number: 12 Registered: Jul-06 | but in my original list I did have a DD sub listed ;) |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Google is your Friend, FL Post Number: 3929 Registered: Aug-05 | 2500 are VERRRY good subs. they take 1000wRMS no problem, they use around 1.5-2.5 cubes. and they are loud and low and accurate. |
Bronze Member Username: Audiobliss21Post Number: 13 Registered: Jul-06 | Hey muddy what subs can you compare the 2599 series to (as far as output and quality of sound? |
