Bronze Member Username: LuisdelbronxPost Number: 16 Registered: Jan-06 | so if you see anybody on here bragging that their system can hit 300db, you know this guy got to them.. |
Bronze Member Username: DualshottyPost Number: 91 Registered: Jul-06 | yep so u can prolly make 1 sony 10 inch xplode from walmart hit 200 thas pretty cool |
Gold Member Username: Sploosh56Ohio Post Number: 1422 Registered: May-04 | the space shuttle couldn't even hit 300 dB |
Bronze Member Username: Sofakingcool2007Post Number: 11 Registered: Jul-06 | isnt the highest dB possible (in air, not water) around 190? |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 8015 Registered: Jul-05 | pretty sure both of these where above 190 http://www.maa.org/features/mathchat/mathchat_2_07_02.html |
Bronze Member Username: DualshottyPost Number: 96 Registered: Jul-06 | u can go above 190 but it does depend on air chamber vacuums and sea level which affects air pressure but you wont ever top 220 |
Bronze Member Username: JustblazeSt.Louis, MO USA Post Number: 41 Registered: Jun-06 | that makes me sick. and whats even sadder, most of the time the lies work when some noob comes in wanting some subs. |
Silver Member Username: DjbeanpoleNaptown, Indiana USA Post Number: 248 Registered: Nov-05 | What Rovin said earlier is correct. I'll have to find the list but some volcano exploded somewhere that went over 300dB. Here it is. That is RIDICULOUS. I wonder how they figure that out? http://www.makeitlouder.com/Decibel%20Level%20Chart.txt |
Silver Member Username: DjbeanpoleNaptown, Indiana USA Post Number: 249 Registered: Nov-05 | Ok so I did some more reading because I couldn't quite comprehend how in the hell you can measure something from 160dB and beyond. The whole page is a very good read if you ask me... ...another reason for normalizing conversions are that objects that are very large, like earthquakes and hurricanes are confusing. For example, while holding a sound level meter the decibel reading during an earthquake or hurricane may reach 110 db to 160 db (P), although using the power rule to conversions: twice the area = + 3 db, or half the area = -3 db. Converting to a distance of 1 meter equals a hemisphere of 6.28 square meters, yields more correct values of 250 db to 300 db (N).Volcanos or nuclear bombs are difficult because no sound meters could survive them at very close range. |
