Bronze Member Username: DualshottyPost Number: 83 Registered: Jul-06 | ok so yesterday i went into circuit city to look at a box for subs and thsi guy come to help me and hes all ya i am running two mtx5500 on a kicker 06zx7501 amp and i said cool he goes ya i built a box for them and they did good at a comp they were 152 db but wen i put them in this box they did 300db so he says u definately want this box fyi the box was sealed and 400 dollars,i have never seen someone lie so much to sell stuff lol |

The whole page is a very good read if you ask me... ...another reason for normalizing conversions are that objects that are very large, like earthquakes and hurricanes are confusing. For example, while holding a sound level meter the decibel reading during an earthquake or hurricane may reach 110 db to 160 db (P), although using the power rule to conversions: twice the area = + 3 db, or half the area = -3 db. Converting to a distance of 1 meter equals a hemisphere of 6.28 square meters, yields more correct values of 250 db to 300 db (N).Volcanos or nuclear bombs are difficult because no sound meters could survive them at very close range. |
