I just got a new system installed on my Subaru STi. Alpine 4 channel and 1 channel amps, speakers, subwoofer and a new Alpine CDA 9857 Head unit.
The system sounds great with iPod or CD. Radio reception has become very poor. Lots of static, even on strong local channels. I'm wondering what's going on. I've got the sub and the amps in the trunk. The antenna is part of the back window. Could the amps/sub be interfering with my reception? I'm wondering if the installer forgot to connect the head unit to the antenna wire. Anyone else have a similar problem? Anyone have a solution?
i would think he forgot to connect the antena or he did a very poor job doing it, or it could just be loose...they should check it out for free since they installed it i would think... professional or friend?
Ya, this happened to me when I had my new HU installed. I bought the harness at circuit city and they said they would install it for free so I let them. Turns out that they never even plugged in the antenna to the back of my HU! Bad Circuit City, bad!
