Thursday, July 06, 2006 - 14:27 GMT That will not work unless your car amp draws very little current. On the average, they draw at least 10A. You'd be better off getting an external power supply. Radio Shack or most electronic stores will carry them. If you're also into HAM radio, you should be able to use the power supply from it, since most are 12v.

Thursday, July 06, 2006 - 16:34 GMT ...whereas that adaptor might not even put out a full amp...more like half an amp...isn't it for charging cell phones or something? Astron and Tenma make good power supplies. They can be had for around $70 for the 35 amp versions.
