Silver Member Username: DkchillinVermont Post Number: 122 Registered: Mar-05 | I'll agree with the Type R (4 Ohm version), and I hear good things about the AA subs (though I haven't heard one for myself). In terms of the amp just try and find a decent amp that'll push around 400W-500W RMS at 2 Ohms, maybe an Alpine MRP-M450. But the type r subs are pretty sturdy so you could easily feed them more power than that. $400 bucks for a single 10" setup is a decent budget so you could probably afford to have a box built, or at least get a higher end pre-fab if you're not going to build one yourself (check www.alpine-usa.com for the manual for the type r to get box size recommendations). And yeah, ebay is the way to go for wiring kits. Just take your time and try and listen to as many setups as you can and get plenty of first hand experiance from people. All the advice in the world won't matter if it sounds like crap to you. |
