New member Username: Raider0689Post Number: 2 Registered: Jun-06 | nah the L7 is 750 rms.. the L5 is 600, dual voice coil. i have it matched with a 2 ohm box |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 1591 Registered: Oct-05 | its still underpowering though. you want to stay around 600 watts. this is better: http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-KX600-1-KX-600-1-600W-RMS-MONO-SUB-AMP-LIKE-NEW_W0QQi temZ9743048457QQcategoryZ79829QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem or http://cgi.ebay.com/A8002V-Audiobahn-800W-RMS-2-1-Ch-Intake-Amp-NEW-A8002T_W0QQi temZ9742407856QQcategoryZ48597QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |
New member Username: Raider0689Post Number: 3 Registered: Jun-06 | ok, i could understand the kicker 600.1. but if i were to go with the audiobahn, wouldnt i risk completely screwing over the sub in the long run because the rms is 800 watts.... im completely ignorant to most of this, so yeah sorry. |

You would be fine. That kicker is probably pushing around 700w rms. Kicker is underrated on their amps so either, as bass said, would be a good match. |
New member Username: Raider0689Post Number: 6 Registered: Jun-06 | ok. another question. since the sub is a dual voice coil. if i got two kicker 400.1's would that sound better than the single 800 |
Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 1594 Registered: Oct-05 | y would u use two amps for one sub?? what is the VC configuration on ur subs (is it a 20hm sub?) having a single voice coil vs. a dual voice coil has no effect whatsoever on how the subs will perfrom. each just presents a different load on the amp. no, 2 400.1 wouldnt do much except you would have to wire it diferently. and anyways, i dont think you can hook up 2 of those amps to one sub, even if you were to hook one to each VC. i would just get one amp. the audiobahn one will be fine. its cheap too |
Bronze Member Username: Raider0689Post Number: 17 Registered: Jun-06 | ok. because a friend of mine had done that set-up and it sounded great. no idea how he did it but he was running two 400.1's on one L5. but thanks, i appreciate it and yes the sub is a 2 ohm |
