I have a kenwood KDC6090R headunit and a pair of kenwood 6908 220watt 6x9's. I thought I'd stay on the kenwood theme and am looking at getting 2 12" 1000watt kenwood subs, model number KFC-W1204DB.
Could someone recommend an amp to power these two subs, preferably a kenwood one. Also, would one amp be enough to power the 6x9's and the 2 subs or would I have to get 2 amps? I'm fairly new to all this so any help appreciated, thanks.
Well Chris,... you can get one amp to power the 6x9 and the subs... but if you want good sound, hook thew 6x9's to the stereo and the subs to the biggest amp sony has... you should read the rms reading on the subs and what ever it is.. multiply by 2( for each sub) and find a amp with this same rms reading... if you want great sound get two amps... one for the highs(6x9's and what ever is in the front of the car)on the high pass filter that most amps offer.. and one on da subs.... it all depends on your budget...
