Silver Member Username: TheweaselSteamboat springs, Colorado U.S. of A Post Number: 307 Registered: Mar-06 | what's the sq like? my friend had a 15" mojo in a box with a huge port and it sounded like sh!t but he didn't know much about anything. |
Silver Member Username: Troy81Tavernier, Fl Us Post Number: 317 Registered: Mar-06 | the SQs alright, its deffinately louder than it is nice sounding, but if you turn it down a little it sounds great. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 4813 Registered: Jun-04 | I take it this new box is larger in usable airspace than your first one and your port tune is the same....too large of a box for a sub is something ive found usually has a negative effect on the sq. Id also be willing to bet your subwoofers excursion is much greater in this new box. I personally think the more excursion you get from a subwoofer the less sq you maintain assuming there arent any other situations done improperly. I believe its also about timing going along with subwoofer control. |
Silver Member Username: Troy81Tavernier, Fl Us Post Number: 321 Registered: Mar-06 | well, yeah it has more airspace and i knew the SQ was gonna be down, i tuned it to like 35-40 hz, you cant be 100% sure i tuned it high because i wanted spl, i got lucky and it does sound really clean at low volumes, up high it just plain blows your ears out |
