pre-out voltage is the setting on the HU. a good HU will have a pre-out voltage of 4v and others are 2v. you set ur gain on the amp according to the pre-out voltage on ur HU
ok so how can i figure out how many my HU is, and wahts considered the best??? i wouldnt be able to read the box or manual cuz i bought it of somebody.....
If they made auto-detect voltage amps that would mean that the amp would always adjust to the voltage given from the HU to get the rated power, that would mean that it would always run at rated power so it would always be at MAX volume so to speak and you would not be able to turn your volume down
Now, if we talk about the detection of max HU voltage then there are some great amps like Zapco, which have clipping detection lights so you can see when it's starting to clip, but it comes at a price
the mb quart raa-1000 has a clipping light on it....but i belive that MVR-545 an all the models in that line......have a digital display.that u can set the gains through...
