I'm guessing that 250a-300a is WAY to big for ONE amp I have a Dark Blue 1000.2 and its just over 2000rms (UNDERrated) and it's amp fuse rating is 120a and the Hifonics is overrated 70-80%...so that amp will push around 1500rms or so. I cant find specs on the amp but I would say 80-150max.
The 1606 has 80x2. So I'd figure you need at least 200A for the 2006. 2 ga would probably work, but it would be a good idea to go with 1/0 wire.
To say the new HF's are over-rated is wrong unless you've seen documented evidence that they are. The bx's were said to be over-rated because of ONE bench test floating around on a few forums that had the 1500 about 20% over-rated, and I don't believe that's enough evidence to say they're ALL over-rated -- certainly not the new designs.
All right, and my KX 800.2 has 120 amps of fuses on it.
I planned on getting a circuit breaker on my power wire, so what amp would I want that to be? I thought you just added up the fuse rating for the amps on the power wire.
That would be like 240....and I KNOW I won't be getting that many amps. So, what amp circuit breaker should I go with?
Well everyone I have talked to has told me that Hifonics amps give 70-80% rated power...I have a Hifonics 1500 (2006 model) sitting in my living room waiting for my friend and if they gave out 100% rms wouldnt more competiton geared people use them? Cause like $300 for a true "2000rms" amp is dirt cheap.
I have nothing against Hifonics, I may consider tossing one amp in my winter beater. Also the amp does not come with a birth sheet, so who knows what it gave out when tested.......
