Monday, June 05, 2006 - 04:27 GMT its the resistance of the voice coil. its what the amp "see's" for resistance. a 700 watt sub with a 4 ohm voice coil is just as good as one witha 2-ohm coil... they also makes dual voice coil subs but that would take too long to explain. you can gooogle that lol

Monday, June 05, 2006 - 04:28 GMT thts not tru....thier might be less resistants but tht doesnt nessecarily mean tht all amps will put out more power at lower ohms....take the pheonix xenon 600.1 it puts out 600 watts at 1-4 ohms.....

Monday, June 05, 2006 - 04:31 GMT Ohms refer to the impedance on your amp the lower the impedance the more power goes to the subs. If you are getting a DVC sub then there will be multiple choices for ohm settings. My advice to you is get an amp first, Then match your sub/s to the amps ohm rate you want
