Gold Member Username: TheelfkeeperStockbridge, GA USA Post Number: 2283 Registered: Feb-05 | the sub doesn't decide whether you need a capacitor or not, because it doesn't pull any power from the charging system, the amp does. general rule for a capacitor is 1 Farad per every 1000 watts. but if you do not already have a HO Alternator, then a capacitor can cause more harm then good. if you are pulling 1000+ watts, then you definally need a HO Alt. and there is no replacement for a good quality HO Alternator. www.excessiveamperage.com Iraggi Alts on ebay |

We get your point - but in all honesty - the rms rating of a 1600w Legacy is going to be around 400w, and it would probably be pretty close to that. I would agree that a cap wouldn't be worth messing with. Then again, I don't think they're ever worth messing with. |
