New member Username: 97mustangtPost Number: 1 Registered: Jun-06 | I have a 97 Mustang GT coupe. I would like to build a custom box to replace the standard JL ported box specs. I want to push the box against the back of my seats and make it as wide as possible to minimize my depth. The box has to be 1.75 Cu Ft. Does that calculation include the space the wood for the port and the port itself or is that w/ out the port? Also is there somewhere that might help me figure out my calculations for the box. I have built boxes in the past but all to the manufacturers specs. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

You will need to factor in for the port displacement if you do deside to go ported again as well as factor in Basket displacement and depending how you build the box, bracing displacement. All in all you're probably gonna need to build a 2.25cuft box before displacment in order to accheive the 1.75cuft afterwards. (the above estimate is a rough guess as i know nothing about what tuning, port preference or W7's basket sizes.) |
