i just got my 15" arsenal in today and it looks sweet! only problem is i have to wait about 3 weeks for my amp. all i have right now is a two channel amp and i was wondering if i could hook up just one of the channels to the sub and have the other not do anything. would this work?

i can't bridge it and each channel is at 4 ohm impedence

Just wire one VC to each channel, you will give each VC 200 watts.

As long as he has the crossovers set right it won't matter.(if that sony has crossovers) Bass is non-directional, thus it is not recorded in stereo. What do you think a mono amp does, it bridges the left and right channels into one signal.

no matter how you wire it, the sony has to say at 2 channels. The amp says it is stable at 4 ohms, when bridged, but it gets reallly hot at that...hot enough to give you a blister after 10 seconds of touching. I dont think that that amp can be bridged in any way. And when you dont bridge it, keep it at 4 ohms or more. So i dont know how you would do that.
