New member Username: LottathoughtPost Number: 9 Registered: Apr-06 | I am starting a new thread because I think that my new question is an entirely different topic. Anyways...I had a sick thought today. Why you ask? Well, I spent this last weekend running wire in the car. I had a good part of the interior out so I could do it right. And now I am going to have to run a pre-amp signal from the HU to the amp...DOH!!! At first I was thinking about putting RCA plugs on the wire I put in but speaker wire is not sheilded and I think that RCA cables are supposed to be sheilded. That is correct...right? So..if I need to run sheilded cable for the pre-amp signal...I can go two ways and am curious what way is generally prefered and why. I can go out and buy RCA cables. I can also build RCA cables using RG6 coax. It is sheilded also and pretty durable to the elements. What is everybodys thoughts on this? |

I have quality CDs and crappy recorded CDs. Guess what. They were both recorded in recording studios. One just plainly sounds better than the other one. IMHO I would use audio speaker wire. |

RG6 is sheilded just as well as Monster cable, etc... RG6 is VERY durable and weather resistant. And I can install RG6 with the tips for less than half of what Monster Cable, etc. would cost me. Since it is every bit as good and so much less, I was wondering why I had not heard more about people doing this. |
