Yes, but at the same time - higher the RMS voltage of HU the lower you will have to set amplifier's gain (or it will clip). And on the other hand - lower RMS voltage, the higher you will have to set the gain on that amplifier
So let's say you have an amp X with rated power 500W RMS and input sensitivity 0.2V-16V. Well you are not gonna get more than 500W no matter what you do, your HU could be 1V or 16V RMS - it's still the same 500W that your amp can put out Only difference will be gain setting A,B,C - you match the HU output with amp's input =500W no matter what It's something like this: 2x5=10 but yet again 5x2=10 (as well)
