Gold Member Username: TheelfkeeperStockbridge, GA USA Post Number: 2206 Registered: Feb-05 | most computer fans are usually 12V, so its no problem. one wire will be positive, one will be negitive. if you reverse the wires, the fan will just spin backwards. cut the plug off, strip the ends and connect just like you would anything else in a car. |
Silver Member Username: Matt12490Benicia, California USA Post Number: 923 Registered: May-05 | hmm.. still a little confused. would i tap it into the power wire from the amps and the negative tap into the remote turn on lead from the head unit?? |
Silver Member Username: Van_manBoston, MA Post Number: 347 Registered: Mar-06 | Connect them to a control curcuit that only comes on when your key is turned. Wire em separately from the amps. If you must use the rem, run it through a relay. ..................... /-----fan 12v------Relay--------amp ...................... \ -----fan |
Silver Member Username: Matt12490Benicia, California USA Post Number: 925 Registered: May-05 | do you have a link explaining this more in detail? |
Silver Member Username: Van_manBoston, MA Post Number: 348 Registered: Mar-06 | Not really. Google it. How to wire a relay. http://www.the12volt.com/info/diagrams.asp |
Gold Member Username: TheelfkeeperStockbridge, GA USA Post Number: 2217 Registered: Feb-05 | www.bcae1.com has a section on adding fans and other accessories to the amp wireing. |
Silver Member Username: Matt12490Benicia, California USA Post Number: 928 Registered: May-05 | Alright i think i understand now. the red circles would be all grounds correct? so the 2 wires on the fan will be 1 to the relay and 1 is ground? |
Silver Member Username: Matt12490Benicia, California USA Post Number: 929 Registered: May-05 | also 1 last question. would i be needing a bosch relay? |
Gold Member Username: FandimReno, Nevada United State... Post Number: 1009 Registered: Jun-05 | Bosch is the most common maker of relay, yes. I'm sure if you looked hard enough you could find others.. (I.E. like Stingers 200 amp relays and such.) |
