I have an audiobahn a8000t. Should i be using the bass boost 0 - 18 db, or should i just leave it on 0. Anyone know anything about the bass boost? (like if it makes the amp or subs work harder?)
I have two Kicker 12" cvr, in a dual ported 38 hz box.
I maxed mine out when i had that amp, i had two subs hooked up to it, i did notice a difference, but i didnt notice a problem with the amp, i dunno but i didnt have a problem
when i put my on six it hit way harder then on zero but when i put it on eighteen it just push the speakers harder. people say it make them distort but i dont here a difference i just see them pushing harder so yea i use it sometimes.
I personally WILL NOT use bass boost an any amp. Mainly becuase the boost is centered around a certain frequency, which in most cases is 45hz. So all it does is make your music sound boomy around that frequency range. It doesn't sound very natural. Better idea is to turn up the Subwoofer output level on your head unit, that way all frequencies from your subs are boosted. Try that instead, it will yeild better results.
