i think i might have a problem but not sure yet. My Jl 1000/1 is getting hot. Today when i was re fixing my system and when i felt my jl amp it was super hot. What can cause the amp to be super hot

having the gains set too high, too low of an impedance, not enough air flow, being really hot outside or just running it for a long period of time can cause the amp to get hot.

JL amps have thermal protection i believe and all JL's protection features are pretty good, so it should shut itself off before it damages itself.

Check to make sure you have proper wire sizes too...

wait is tht the right impedance load??? ur presenting a 1ohm load to an amp tht is made to run 1.5 at the lowest, so my research has said.

i don't think it can be the impedance. JL amps won't power at all if the load is too low and it'd be pretty unlikely that the circuitry that monitors this isn't functioning properly.

Make sure each sub is wired in series. + to -

You should have a final impedence of 4 ohm which whould be the best option.
