my one friend was looking into them. do they harm amps? or are they just a good add-on? i was thinking it was bad because ir seems going over the reccomended 8v on the amp would fry it

It's not meant to go over the amplifiers rated input BUT to bring your HUs voltage up to the amplifiers max input or a hair under. Polo.
