Bronze Member Username: GrebnereonPost Number: 57 Registered: Mar-06 | Are eclipse subs any good? i know the titaniums are good but ive never heard about any of their other subs. anyone know if the SW7124DVCT4? also are all eclipse subs rms rating stated as "per voice coil" because i hear the titaniums rms are rated that way |
Gold Member Username: Kd7nfrMontpelier, ID United States Post Number: 1584 Registered: Apr-05 | Their lesser models are pretty good. Great build quality for the price, and I'm not sure on the power ratings. I remember my 6123 was rated per VC... |
Silver Member Username: Sw9152Michigan Post Number: 524 Registered: Feb-06 | you could call up eclipse, that is how i found out the titaniums were rated per vc. |
Bronze Member Username: GrebnereonPost Number: 60 Registered: Mar-06 | alright thanx guys |
Bronze Member Username: Jpio24Schaumburg, IL Post Number: 48 Registered: Mar-06 | i called eclipse also and the tech said the titaniums were NOT rated per voice coil |

Silver Member Username: Sw9152Michigan Post Number: 552 Registered: Feb-06 | i called up eclipse and talked to one of their tech guys and he told me that the titanium series was rated per vc. |
Silver Member Username: Sw9152Michigan Post Number: 553 Registered: Feb-06 | and i have a rf X7 that was benched at 1662wrms at 2 ohms hooked up to my 15" eclipse titanium and it takes all of it like a champ. |
Gold Member Username: Kd7nfrMontpelier, ID United States Post Number: 1585 Registered: Apr-05 | My only guess is they don't want to tell you that it will handle 1,500 wrms because 750 is plenty and they don't want to take a chance of you ruining the subs... |
Gold Member Username: LbecknerTulsa, Ok Usa Post Number: 1032 Registered: Oct-04 | idk, but mine are pretty mean with only 750 watts. these woofers are freakin awesome. highly recommended. |
Silver Member Username: Sw9152Michigan Post Number: 577 Registered: Feb-06 | eclipse claims 1.75" of xmax and with 1600wrms my 15 only gets about 1.25" of xmax. |
Gold Member Username: LbecknerTulsa, Ok Usa Post Number: 1033 Registered: Oct-04 | how did you measure? |
Gold Member Username: LbecknerTulsa, Ok Usa Post Number: 1034 Registered: Oct-04 | also have you had it metered? ported box right? whats it tuned to? |
Silver Member Username: ShmanGrandville, Michigan United States Post Number: 146 Registered: Mar-06 | i think its 4.2ft^3 tuned at 35hz. i'm pretty sure |
Silver Member Username: Sw9152Michigan Post Number: 582 Registered: Feb-06 | archie is right about my box and i just estimated the xmax by looking at it. it has pretty close to 2.5" of excursion. no i have not had it metered but i want to. |
Bronze Member Username: Andysd03Post Number: 80 Registered: Jan-06 | Hey this is the new TItanium by eclipse all u guys are idiots here http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2002 I asked woofersetc.com if it was 750 per voice coil and they said no!! its 750rms total for the whole sub all u guys putting 1500wattrms they are good subs that can handle twice the amount of power but isnt recomended doing so |
Bronze Member Username: Seth_walkerU.S.A. Post Number: 81 Registered: Jul-05 | from what i understand the Titanium Pro series handles 3000wrms, and the regular Titanium series handles 750wrms. at least that's what their website says. |
Bronze Member Username: Andysd03Post Number: 82 Registered: Jan-06 | now thats true but they are frequin expensive subs who can afford them |
Silver Member Username: Demon_prideCrowder, Oklahoma USA Post Number: 131 Registered: Oct-05 | okay who do you believe? The poeple at woofersetc or eclipse themselves? honestly? |
Bronze Member Username: Jpio24Schaumburg, IL Post Number: 57 Registered: Mar-06 | Alright heres the story. I first called eclipse and asked em. The guy said it was 750 total for the sub. I called today and talked to a different guy that said 1500 total rms. I got pissed and he went to check w/ his manager or something. He concluded 1500 rms per sub, but i dont understand on their website why they would only put 750rms. Still not sure who to believe. Call em for yourself eclipse main # is 310-327-2151 Hope this helps |
Silver Member Username: Sw9152Michigan Post Number: 586 Registered: Feb-06 | the eclipse ti's are not that expensive compared to some of the other high end sql subs. i think i remember the 15" titanium is $355 on electronicgiant.com. i got mine for $200 off ebay |
Gold Member Username: LbecknerTulsa, Ok Usa Post Number: 1039 Registered: Oct-04 | yup i called up eclipse and they said 750 watts per coil on the titanium |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 6911 Registered: Jul-05 | well if it really is per coil, then the TI should be the new sub to beat, (bang for ur buck) |

Silver Member Username: Sw9152Michigan Post Number: 624 Registered: Feb-06 | a lot of people think ti's are not near as good as they are because most people that have them are way underpowering them. |
Silver Member Username: Sw9152Michigan Post Number: 625 Registered: Feb-06 | didnt bump |
Gold Member Username: LbecknerTulsa, Ok Usa Post Number: 1043 Registered: Oct-04 | i'm giving mine (12") about half power cause i thought that it was 750 per sub and they are still freakin' awesome. i think that they are just as loud as my 15" l7's with the same power. haven't had it metered yet to prove it, but the ti's sound way better than the l7's. |
Silver Member Username: Matt12490Benicia, California USA Post Number: 795 Registered: May-05 | I wish they made them dual 2 voice coils. =( or else i would be on it already.. |
