Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 37 Registered: Apr-06 | I've heard the amp is to much power. Some people say its alright. I need advice on this matter. |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 899 Registered: Oct-05 | lol, havent you already posted this?? just hook it up to 4 ohms, to give each sub 750 watts rms. wait, do u have a zx2500.1 or kx2500.1?? each put out diff power at ohms. if you do have the kx2500.1, hook up to 4 ohms (if you have DVC 4 ohm subs) and you'll be set |
New member Username: Simba_08Entiat Post Number: 2 Registered: Apr-06 | if the amp is more then the subs all u have to is set the amp with the subs have a song playing and if it sound like it is over working the subs turn the gane down untill it sounds like itnot over working them and ajust the valume on the stero from hi to low |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 903 Registered: Oct-05 | i wouldnt recommend that^^. you cant hear if the subs are overworking, until you find that out, they'll blow |

Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 39 Registered: Apr-06 | no the subs are 4 ohm DVC |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 6603 Registered: Jul-05 | can u switch 2 the 2ohm version |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 41 Registered: Apr-06 | No I have the 4ohm version. I wish I could. |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 6604 Registered: Jul-05 | ok, but u havent bought the amp yet right??? |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 42 Registered: Apr-06 | The amp will be coming on the 26th. |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 6605 Registered: Jul-05 | oh sh!t, it will work, but not to there full poteintial |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 907 Registered: Oct-05 | i dont think you want to put 2500 watts into 2 750 rms subs rovin. the amp does 1500 @ 4 ohms, so wouldnt it make more snese to wire to 4 ohms and get 750 per sub, which is what their rated at?? |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 908 Registered: Oct-05 | why would you want to put 2500 wats into 2 750 rms subs?? |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 43 Registered: Apr-06 | Thats what i was thinking bassman3. I didn't want to run the full 1500 to each sub. Will 750 per sub sound good. What does rms mean? |
Gold Member Username: Chaunb3400Huntsville, Alabama U.S. Post Number: 6606 Registered: Jul-05 | the amp does 1250@4 ohms, personally i would give them around 1000rms a piece |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 909 Registered: Oct-05 | Oh WTF. this site when i was looking at the specs gave me the wrong info and said 1500 @ 4 ohms. if its rated at 2 ohms to be 2500 that means around 1250 each sub, and that to me sounds like a lil much for a sub thats 750 rms. |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 7469 Registered: Jul-05 | k - maybe i was thinking those subs r 100wrms each (too many damn threads opened same time-lol ) amp http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14825 sub http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=16855 sub is rated 750 each so u said u bought 4 ohms dvc version ? man u should cancel that amp order ASAP ! maybe get a PPI DCX 1500 Or an amp that does around 2000wrms @ 1ohm ........ |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 44 Registered: Apr-06 | 1250 for 4 ohm? |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 45 Registered: Apr-06 | the amp will be at my house on the 26th. What should i do since I already have both items? 1250 is 2 much power for a 1500 watt sub? i know its 750 rms. what if you went over that? |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 911 Registered: Oct-05 | thats your best bet, but that giving each sub around 650 rms. That isnt much of a diff though, and i know that they underrate their amps so your sub will prolly be gettin 700 each. Not to shabby, but i would rather put a lil more, than to have them underpowered. either way, they will sound very good. e-mail them and see if you can return. if not, it not a huge loss. |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 7471 Registered: Jul-05 | well u either keep both subs & cancel amp order or get amp cancel sub order what i would do is KEEP amp , cancel subs & instead buy 2 12s RE SX subs www.reaudio.com ... |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 46 Registered: Apr-06 | i bought both items from 2 different dealers on ebay. I was thinking the amp would come out to be 750 rms per sub. I didn't want to over power or under. What subs would go good with this amp? Or is it alright with the 2 that i have. I heard under power will hurt the amp. |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 7472 Registered: Jul-05 | """What subs would go good with this amp?""" i told u in my last post ... |
Silver Member Username: JuliobSanto DomingoDominican Re... Post Number: 485 Registered: Dec-05 | even with the same subs, problem is that you don't have DVC 2ohm, you could give them 1000wrms a piece and turn the gain down a lil bit so they won't blow, for me i would sell the subs and get some better or trade it with someone and get dual 2 ohm |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 47 Registered: Apr-06 | So if I had dvc 2 ohm it would be alot better for me? |
Silver Member Username: JuliobSanto DomingoDominican Re... Post Number: 491 Registered: Dec-05 | hell yeah! your amp puts out 2500w rms at 2 ohms, you give them 1000w rms, but you need to control the gain, don't put it too high. |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 48 Registered: Apr-06 | well i'll see If i can trade for 2 ohm dvc. Hopefully I can. |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 914 Registered: Oct-05 | thats alot of watts for one of those subs. you will be overpowering them in my opinion, and could potentially lead to blowing them. |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 915 Registered: Oct-05 | putting 1250 watts into a 750 rms sub. i like those subs, and i would get a diff amp, or wire it to 2 ohms see how you like it, and then if you dont like it get a diff amp. i would hook up and see hw you like it first |
Silver Member Username: JuliobSanto DomingoDominican Re... Post Number: 497 Registered: Dec-05 | bassman, he must turn the gain down, it's better for him to trade subs cuz is cheaper, in fact, is free, if he gives 900-1000w to each sub they will be fine, i don't think he's going to drive with 2000w rms inside the trunk without getting a police ticket, lol!!!!!!!! |
Gold Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 7477 Registered: Jul-05 | Brandon W either way u look @ it - u got ur self a BAD combo ,like i said above get rid of 1 or the other or better yet - BOTH ! ..... |
Silver Member Username: JuliobSanto DomingoDominican Re... Post Number: 501 Registered: Dec-05 | why these guys never talk with this forum before buying, two advices: 1- You get what you pay for (most of the cases jejeje) 2- DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 49 Registered: Apr-06 | I got the 2 ohm dvc subs coming. So all I should do is turn the gain down to 1000 or 900? |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 917 Registered: Oct-05 | you dont turn the gain down to 900 or 1000.there is no certin # that you turn it to.you need to match the voltage output of ur HU with ur gain, and then turn it a lil below that |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 918 Registered: Oct-05 | you dont turn the gain for what watts you want the amp to put out. |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 50 Registered: Apr-06 | what does this mean? 1500 x 1 @ 4 ohms, from 20-200 HZ, 14.4Vdc, 1% THD. |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 938 Registered: Oct-05 | it does 1500 watts in bridged mode @ 14.4 volts (which is usually what the rating are at. THD is the signal to noise ratio or harmonic distortion and anything below 1 is fine. what amp is that? |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 939 Registered: Oct-05 | signal to noise ratio isnt the same as THD, but you want that number to be above 80 |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 63 Registered: Apr-06 | This is the kx2500.1 birth sheet from the actual manual. |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 940 Registered: Oct-05 | ohh. just wire ur subs to 4 ohms with those cvx's. dont worry about it anymore, you have the DVC 4 ohm subs, wire it to 4 ohms and give each sub 750 or more watts since the amp is overrated. Dont borry bout the #s like THD and stuff, it wont be a noticiable diff. |
Bronze Member Username: Don_beeskiBourbonnais, IL Kankakee Post Number: 65 Registered: Apr-06 | How do you bridge an amp? |
Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 946 Registered: Oct-05 | it will say on the amp "bridged" or it should say and it will point to the + and - terminal you need to hook it up at. so you basically take the speaker wire, put it in the bridged terminals and then connect ur subs or vis versa |
