Car alarm

i drive a 2002 civic si. I was looking at alarm/auto starters and the salesman told me that since i have a immobilizer i need leave a key in the car so that the alarm/starter will work.. is any of this true ?

Yes, you will need a vechicle specific bypass module, or a universal one. The key won't just be in there, it will be hidden so that when you remote start the car thinks that the key is in the vehicle. Some cars won't start if the key isn't sensed, that way people can't hotwire a newer vehcile.

isnt that kinda scary..
i mean if someone is able to bypass my alarm and able to find the key, they now have a key to my car and can come back again and break-in in a more legal way..

DON'T LOSE A KEY!!! a company called Bypass Kits www.bypasskit.com, you can get a Data interface module where you don't lose a key, No key in the vehicle.
