My amplifier is a 4ohms i have plug the sub in 2ohms mode but its a 4ohms + 4 ohms. i can plug my sub in 2 or 8ohms mode. i wanna know if bad ohms ajustement can burn the sub or its was the sub had a malfunction Thanks Gab |

It will load the amplifier down, and make the amp produce a clipped signal to the subs.. which in turns burns the voice coils up in the subs... The amp and sub work together... Think of a amp being a circuit that is OPENED.. (nothing connected) Adding a sub will CLOSE the circuit (connected)... The sub needs to be the correct resistance that the circuit of the amp is designed for... |
