Thats a great amp. The same as 1501d. puts easilly over 1000w at 12.5w. Underrated by about 10%. I used to have 4x1501d radted at 1kw at 12.5v, did 1.1kw.
250-300 canadian for a mtx 8100d is a good deal, i would buy it. if you got some decent subs off ebay or out of the paper and put them in a box you could make a couple hundred bucks off the deal if you find the right person.
I have a smaller mtx amp that produces 488wrms @ 2ohms that I have hooked up to a type r and it sounds excellent. Never get's hot either. Honestly, I really like that amp. Mine was rated at 400wrms @ 2ohms, so I'm getting 22% more power than rated
um i got 12.2% more power when i figured it up LOL, but ya mtx amps are good, good budget amps, my friend had a 1501d and had it running at 1.4ohm and it never overheated or anything, i'd rather have kicker orion or re before mtx but its all personal preference.
i have 2 mtx amps a a thunder 942 and a 801d they have never giving me any trouble at all and they are rated right around were there suppose to i think the 942 is overrated though cause its suppose to put out 942 but only puts out 900
Would it be ok to run the 1501d or the 81000d at one ohm for a daily driver? I have 3 12" dual 6 ohm subs and I love mtx amps. I have a 564 already and those mono amps would match that perfectly...what you guys think?
