Hey Everbody, does anyone out there know about the security code/valet mode to correct problem. Car alarm dealer says that since avantguard3 is no longer made that it is best to upgrade to the 5 version. Removing the "brain" would require shipping it back and then added costs...HUH? What about the lifetime warranty that was supposed to cover this stuff? Alarm was working fine then the lights stayed on after setting the alarm. Dealer said the 3 digit code (that I can't remember) would be the only way they can go into the "brain". Can anyone give me some advice. I thought Clifford covered everything??
I have original receipts from previous owner and have not had any problems since purchasing my truck in 98. Previous owner noted the code within the paperwork and I have not been able to find it. Isn't there an overriding code the the dealership could enter - or do they just want to sell me a new alarm? *** JEREMY C I've read the help you given other people - hope you'll respond.***
