Gold Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 3395 Registered: Oct-05 | also when calculating the length of the port, do i measure the outer wall of the port or the inner wall of the port. |

Gold Member Username: SouthernrebelMonroe, Louisiana USA Post Number: 2605 Registered: Mar-04 | measure the center line of the port...not the wall. |
Gold Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 3401 Registered: Oct-05 | thanks marshall. on the diagram above i measure the inner wall so thats why the port was long. i did what you said and now the port and this is what i came up with. its not all screwed and glued down yet. i just placed the pieces to take the picture. |

Gold Member Username: B101Queen City, NC USA Post Number: 2167 Registered: Sep-05 | they will LOVE that box interchangable ports are hard, also must be sealed nice and tight when they are in. u got me think a dual port setup That wood also looks thick, what is it 1" ? |
Gold Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 3408 Registered: Oct-05 | no its only 3/4. i might put another layer on the front but i doubt it. i might just put edead on the front piece to reduce the vibration. |

PVC half-pipes would greatly reduce any port noise, also, when you go to put the lid on it, sand down all the top edges flat, and use a layer of thick double sided sticky foam to cover all the top edges, then when you screw that lid on, it will squeeze down on the foam and be 100% air tight. |

Silver Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 701 Registered: Oct-05 | also, what site did you use to find out ur ports? length and stuff |

Gold Member Username: BestmankindLos Angeles, CA USA Post Number: 3414 Registered: Oct-05 | lewass....thanks for the idea. i don't know about the half pipe idea (its a good one but seems like a lot of work) but i will do that double sided foam thing. bassman3.......in the picture i just placed it there to take the picture but i will first glue it then screw it from the side of the box. also this is the site i got the calculation for the slot port length. http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 |
