I'm planning to purchase a Boss Amplifier R-2200D(RMS: 800W x 1 @ 4 Ohms and 1400W x 1 @ 2 Ohms) but I'm not sure if i should get it. I have a new type R and am planning to get another one soon, but the total RMS for the two subs is 1000rms which will be hard to match with this amp (Although 2 type R's can handle a total of 1200 rms). Also i heard Boss amps aren't very good. Please give me some advice.

u heard right - they generally lie about actual wrms

buy any decent amp that does 1200wrms @ 1ohm like kicker 1200 or orion 1200d & others too.....

I used to own a Boss PD-3000 and it wasnt very good. I had it tested and it only produced 1000w RMS @ 1 ohm. This was at 12 volts. If you are on a budget buy a Hifonics BXi 1206D. They are decently priced and make enough power for your setup.

2005 Hif amps were said 2 be overrated as well & guesstimated 2 out out about 75/80% of rated so if u need 1200wrms u buy the bigger bx1605D model .

Hif r good budget amps available new now .......
