Silver Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Post Number: 341 Registered: Feb-05 | What amp will push this sub? i was thinking about a 1000\1 but that's only 1000 watts. Please help |
Gold Member Username: TheelfkeeperStockbridge, GA USA Post Number: 1583 Registered: Feb-05 | wire then Series/parallel for a 4 ohm load. they are 400 RMS a piece, so a 1000/1 would work fine. you could go with something bigger. 3 500/1's would be nice, lol. if you wire them parallel/parallel, you'll have a 1 ohm load and could run like an Orion 1200D or Kicker KX1200.1 for a little more power. |
Silver Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Post Number: 342 Registered: Feb-05 | would it be best to run them 4 ohms or 1 ohms? |
Gold Member Username: James1115Ct Post Number: 5434 Registered: Dec-04 | I personally would run them at 4 ohms off a 1000/1 you wont notice much of a difference if any at all between the 1000/1 and a 1200 watt amp. Dude but for real though you don't need those how about selling them to me |

Silver Member Username: LewassBoomfield Hills, MI USA Post Number: 463 Registered: Jan-06 | Yeah, do you have any idea how hard those are going to slam??? Straight up rediculous... |
Silver Member Username: LewassBoomfield Hills, MI USA Post Number: 464 Registered: Jan-06 | James is right, JL 1000/1 at 4 Ohms is your best bet. They will run ultra smooth and cool, with no distortion. Unless you can find an amp that does 1200-1500 at 4 Ohms.... (Good luck! haha) |

Silver Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Post Number: 344 Registered: Feb-05 | what kind of box should i go with? |
Gold Member Username: James1115Ct Post Number: 5438 Registered: Dec-04 | I ran my 3-10w6's sealed and they sounded AWSOME. |
Silver Member Username: LewassBoomfield Hills, MI USA Post Number: 487 Registered: Jan-06 | I got mine in a ported, but am considering sealed for when I get my next car, because I am going for sound quality. Though they do sound great ported, I can't detect any port noise at all unless it's a song with very high levels of bass, at a very low volume (like 5 to 10% of max volume). You will need to beef up your electrical system. But if you do everything right, even a sealed box should make you feel light-headed by the end of a song! Be prepared for things in your car to stop working... like especially the backlights of your instrument cluster and climate control knobs... LOL |

Silver Member Username: LewassBoomfield Hills, MI USA Post Number: 492 Registered: Jan-06 | James can you PM me the size and shape of your box for the three 10w6's sealed? That is going to be my next project.. I believe the magic number for each separate chamber's ratio of LxWxH is .8 x 1 x 1.2, respectively. How many cubes did you use for each chamber? |
