If u series the batteries thats a nono! you want the batteries in parrallel with each other.. i would also use direct grd cables to each neg post! These are the problem u run into, trying to avoid a HO alternator..

If they're both 12 volts, and you're just wiring them the same way you would, if only one alternator was connected, then you're fine.
