Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 2575 Registered: Dec-03 | Kicker KX600.1 or any good sub amp rated for 600wRMS x 1 @ 2 ohms if you have two 4 ohm subs. |
New member Username: QuadforcePost Number: 3 Registered: Apr-04 | OK, which of those 2 would you recomend the most? or does it really matter? |
New member Username: QuadforcePost Number: 4 Registered: Apr-04 | GlassWolf, In another post you told someone If they went with a ported box "go to partsexpress.com, and buy $20 FMOD 20Hz high-pass subsonic filters for the amp to prevent over-extension from the subs. also grab a couple Y splitters to send signal to all 4 of the JBL's RCA inputs. makes for a stronger signal to the amp and better output" Is this something i should do aswell? |
New member Username: QuadforcePost Number: 5 Registered: Apr-04 | ok , where might i be able to buy a JBL BP600.1 ? jbl says they are discontinued |
Bronze Member Username: VipersbymsPost Number: 78 Registered: Apr-04 | sounddomain.com has them for $220. just search for them and you should be able to find many online stores that carry that amp. |
Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 2585 Registered: Dec-03 | if you get the JBL and use a ported box, yes you want that fmod subsonic filter, and the Y splitters. (the Y splitters regardless of box type) between the two amps, I'd get teh Kicker. nicer amp in general, has the subsonic filter built in already.. it will cost more though. Both however, are good amps. |
New member Username: QuadforcePost Number: 6 Registered: Apr-04 | thanks for all your help Glass, one last question... How should i hook the speakers to the amp? ive heard of parallel but not sure what it means |
Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 2596 Registered: Dec-03 | simple the JBL has two sets of speaker terminals to make the job simple. wire one sub to each set of terminals. all done. |
New member Username: QuadforcePost Number: 7 Registered: Apr-04 | well... i was gonna get the kicker though :P so how would that go..? |
Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 2604 Registered: Dec-03 | same idea just wire both subs straight to the amp the manual has pictures. its really simple. you'll see what you re ready to wire it all |
