I have been reading the threads and notcied Glasswolf knows what hes talking about :D... My Question is I have a Kenwood KAC-929 Amp and 2 10" Kenwood subs, and 2-ohm stability how can i wire everything properly??
And also i was thinking about Phoenix Gold Subs 10" would this amp do the job? and what kind of PG subs would you prefer, or is there anything else higher quality?
ideally, to get the full 230wRMS x 2 from the amp with two subs, you need each sub to be 2 ohms, or 4+4 ohm DVC with coils in parallel, one sub per channel.
I don't know the coil configuration of your 10" subs so that's all the info I can offer
Sorry i forgot to put the specs of the sub here they are...
Key Features - Maximum Input Power: 300W + 300W - Rated Input Power: 75W + 75W - 10" Tornado-Type Silver Pearl Mica Injection-Molded Polypropylene Woofer - Extended Pole Piece For Large Xmax - Gold Plated 2-Way Screw Bind Input Terminals - 1-Year Warranty
General Features - Frequency Response: 28Hz-800Hz - Sensitivity: 91dB - Impedance: 4 Ohm + 4 Ohm - Canadian M.S.R.P. $189.99 (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) - Authorized Kenwood Dealers May Sell For Less
hmm ok wire coils in parallel (+ to + and - to - on the two pair of coils) and put one sub on each channel. they're only rated for 150wRMS each, total, and you'll get ~230wRMS each from that amp so if they start to bottom out, don't turn it up so loud.. just be careful and you should be fine
My friend has a pair of Alpine type S in a sealed box for sale $400 Canadian will the 230w power per channel cut it?? and would it pound or get a better amp?
