okay i'm new to all of this and i don't know what the the 1-18 DB dial does, and i don't know what the 1-11 gain does or even the HZ. So if someone would help me i would be greatful.
1-18dB would probably be bass boost. leave that set to zero
gains are for input sensitivity, for matching the line signal voltage of your RCA lines to the input stage of teh amp. set them to between 1/4 and 1/2 way up from zero no higher
Hz is the low pass filter. set that to 70-80Hz for subs

what happens if you have your gains set higher? like 3/4 or all the way up?
you'll overdrive the input stage of the amp, then the amplifier will clip, sending square wave signals to the speakers, which translate to DC voltage, turning your speaker coils into heating elements, and roasting your speakers. also causes nasty distortion. sounds like crap
